ArtattheHouse 2021 – Press Release

We were really excited to stage our third ArtattheHouse event in the beautiful grounds of a newly refurbished Cliffe House back in September. We had a vision of an interactive Arts Market in the Coach House and the woods that could be explored amongst the sounds of live music and activity drifting through the trees.

This year we expanded the coach House upstairs and filled the woods with more artists than ever before. There were theatre performances inside Cliffe House each day, with Scissett Youth Band and a Soul Choir performing outside. It was an event for all the senses.

The brilliant Cliffe House staff served hundreds of meals from their world food menu and the Jolly Boys ArtatheHouse Ale went down a treat too!

More importantly, it was about whether YOU, the local public, would turn up and support an event like this. We were clashing with some other major rearranged events in the area (including Honley Show and Holmfirth Arts Festival), so we were worried, but we had no need to be.

The weather held firm aside from an hour of rain on the Sunday morning, but that didn’t stop anybody from enjoying what was on offer, we had it covered!

We would like to thank everyone who was involved in making ArtattheHouse 2021 such a special event. The Cliffe House team who supported us all the way, particularly Matt Womersley and his team, FOCH who looked after car parking. All volunteers, from piano playing to bar work to being show guides, helping with set up and breaking down, it was all hugely appreciated and the event could not have happened without you.
